On 14th November, Jackie Mackenzie our Fundraising and Engagement Officer (North) visited Dunrobin Castle  to accept this cheque for £2500 from Shona MacBeath at Sutherland Estates. Earlier this year there was a significant wildfire on the estate which crews from all over the North SDA attended. The Estate wished to thank the crews for all their hard work over the five week period it took to finally fully extinguish the blaze. Being the selfless individuals they are, the crews asked for the thanks to be directed towards fire service charities rather than accept it themselves.
Jackie said ” I am very privileged to be here at Dunrobin today, on behalf of our charity, I would like to thank Lord Strathnaver and all at Sutherland Estates for their very generous donation. I would also like to thank each and every crew member from all of the stations who attended, firstly for their exemplary work which generated this donation and secondly for asking that others less fortunate than themselves benefit”
